Mellow Matte Liquid Lip Paint Review

A few months ago I won an Instagram competition to win a set of Mellow Cosmetics Liquid Lip Paint. This gave me a good excuse to try something new on the blog and do my first ever make up review.

Mellow Cosmetics are a New Zealand brand that is owned by Ima Asali. All of their products are vegan, cruelty free and paraben free. A huge plus for me as I am currently switching all of my products to cruelty free. All of their lip stains and lipsticks are utterly gorgeous, plus they sell brow, eye and face products. I highly recommend you check out their range here!

I received three lip stains in my prize, the colours are Ibiza, Milan and Auckland. All of the lip paints are named after cities, which according to Ima are places she would love to travel too. I thought that was super cute! In this photo the top is Ibiza, then Auckland and finally Milan.

Price wise they sit at around NZD$20, so very affordable. You also receive free shipping to NZ, Australia, Canada and USA when you spend over $40.

Ibiza

Ibiza is a soft brown colour that is a perfect subtle tone for every day. Match with a neutral or bronze eye. This is a difficult shade for my skin colouring, however I feel it works with a full face of make up.

Milan

Milan is probably my favourite out of all three. It’s a medium pink that is on the slightly redder side. I get a lot of compliments when I wear this. If you want something that’s not bold but still looks like you’re wearing a colour then this is perfect.

Auckland

Lip Paint Review | Serensays.comFinally we have the amazing Auckland shade! A dark brown red that I actually think nearly every Auckland woman wears in the winter. I love this colour for a girls night out or for drinks after work.

I hope you enjoyed my first ever beauty product review!

Which lip stain shade is your favourite? Have you tried any of the Mellow Cosmetics range?

    1. It’s not as bad as Mac, but generally matte lipsticks are more drying than normal lipsticks. I use a wax based lip balm to help protect my lips and not wear it every day!
