5 Cruelty Free Make Up Brands

I love animals, I’m a self-confessed crazy cat lady and hate the thought of any animal being harmed. One area I think is completely unnecessary is product testing on animals, especially for beauty items. I recently found out that some of my favourite brands do test on animals so I decided it was time to only support make up companies that don’t test on animals. ┬áHere are my top 5 cruelty free make up brands.

I thought it would be hard to replace my make up with cruelty free brands, my assumption was that their weren’t any well known or high end products going cruelty free. I was very wrong, and in fact a lot of my favourite products that I already owned were cruelty free! Here’s my top 5 cruelty free make up brands!

Urban Decay

Cruelty Free Make Up Brands | Serensays.comThe Urban Decay Naked Palettes are a beauty cult item, they come in a range of neutral tones so they’re easy to use whilst also allowing you to experiment. I use Pintrest to find tutorials using these the Naked Palettes, there are so many from every day to dramatic night looks.

I also highly recommend their eyeshadow primer as it is AMAZING. I had some as a free sample when I bought the palettes and once I run out I’ll be buying the full size.

Anastasia Beverly Hills

Cruelty Free Make Up Brands | Serensays.comThey make the legendary contour kit that was everywhere when contouring first hit main stream. I picked up the powder one of these from Sephora last year as the cream one looked a tad advanced for someone like me. Once you watch a few tutorials it’s very easy to do, so don’t be put off!

Their eyebrow products are great too, I have swapped my Benefit brow product for their brow powder and I am in love with it.

Too Faced

Cruelty Free Make Up Brands | Serensays.comIn Australia recently I replaced my Mac mascara (which had run out) with the Better Than Sex mascara from Too Faced. It’s a fantastic mascara that blackens and lengthens, the brush is on the larger size though so it took some getting used to!

Their packaging is super cute, and some of their products smell like peach or chocolate! Next on my list is their highlighter.

Tarte

Cruelty Free Make Up Brands | Serensays.comTarte make up is free of parabens, synthetic fragrance, petrochemicals, GMOs as well as being cruelty free! I personally haven’t used any of their products however they are a regular favourite of beauty bloggers.

MARC JACOBS BEAUTY

Cruelty Free Make Up Brands | Serensays.comIn the super high end we have Marc Jacobs Beauty. Again, not a brand I use personally but I am hearing great things about their full coverage foundation. The packaging is very elegant in all black with curved lines. One thing to note is that their perfumes are NOT cruelty free.

Those are my 5 cruelty free make up brands but there are dozens more out there! A simple search will bring up specialist blogs and websites which can help you choose great products.

As mentioned it’s simply too expensive to swap everything all at once, I recommend replacing as you finish them to keep your self from going broke!

What brands do you use? Are you conscious of making cruelty free purchases?
