My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts

I’m sure every one remembers a few years ago when the world became addicted to the highly popular Podcast Serial, after that I was recommended How Stuff Works and the incredibly funny The Worst Idea of all Time. I find Podcast’s great for when I’m walking to the train, driving or at the gym and in this post I’ll be sharing my top 5 favourite podcasts.

The Worst Idea of All Time

My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts | Serensays.comThis one is by two New Zealand comedians and whilst it’s a couple of years old now it’s still one of the funniest Podcasts available. Tim Batt and Guy Montgomery started by watching the movie Grown Ups 2 every week for a year and reviewing it each week. It sounds repetitive and boring but I promise you it’s anything but. These poor guys end up in some pretty dark holes as they struggle through one of Adam Sandler’s worst movies ever and the result is hilarious.

Since then they also did Sex and the City 2 and they’re currently finishing up We Are Your Friends.

Casefile

My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts | Serensays.comAs you are well aware I do love a crime book, which is why I enjoy this Podcast. This Podcast is about past crimes from all over the world but largely Australia and the US. It’s very simple, just one guy speaking with the occasional recordings from court rooms or interviews but for some reason I enjoy it. Granted a lot of the cases are really hard to stomach, however if you do like real crime stories then you’ll enjoy this podcast.

It was recently voted Australia’s Most Popular Podcast in the Castaway Australian Podcast Awards so it’s worth checking out.

My Dad Wrote A Porno

My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts | serensays.comWho doesn’t love laughing so hard that their abs hurt? Despite it’s weird title this Podcast is easily one of the funniest ones I have ever listened to. What started as one guy and his two friends reviewing his father’s hack job attempt at writing an erotic novel (Belinda Blinked) has become a world wide phenomenon. We’re three books and three seasons in, and the success of it has generated a live show (coming to New Zealand in August!), Belinda Blinked dress up parties and it’s own questionable range of merchandise.

Happier with Gretchen Rubin

My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts | serensays.comI read her Happiness Project book back in May, and really enjoyed it. I found so much of what she talked about to be interesting and also easy to implement. I discovered that she also had a Podcast and so I’ve downloaded it and regularly add her episodes into my feed. They’re quick, only around 15 minutes long which is ideal as it’s enough to remember without being overwhelming. She has a happiness tip at the beginning of the Podcast which are always easy to remember and use, such as the 2 minute rule and always give warm hellos and goodbyes.

If you’d like to feel happier and grateful then check it out here!

DTR

My Top 5 Favourite Podcasts | serensays.comThis is a Podcast about Tinder! There aren’t many episodes but it’s worth a listen. It covers various topics around Tinder and dating in a digital world. There’s  a few good laughs and overall it feels like you’re listening to a conversation you’d have with your friend. One of my favourite episodes was about how people’s lives can be changed in other ways through Tinder. I don’t want to say too much because it’s such an awesome story!

  1. Have you heard of this new podcast called Eggology Club talking about the fertility journey to parenthood and what young people should do to plan their family future or journey to avoid high costing treatments? I think it launches this month. Three girls who froze their eggs started it. I’ve just been following their brand and fb group. Check out: http://www.eggologyclub.com
