I have signed up to Junk Free June, which of course, starts tomorrow! I’ve never done a challenge like this before, and after kick starting my fitness at the same time, I thought taking part would be a great chance to get back into healthy habits whilst raising money for the Cancer Society of New Zealand.
What is Junk Free June?
JFJ is a not-for-profit organisation that focuses on cancer prevention through freeing people from negative habits, creating awareness about good lifestyle choices, educating and empowering people to keep making positive choices. Read more by clicking here.
As the name suggests, the fund-raising takes place in June, participants pledge to give up junk food for the month whilst aiming for a donation target. All of the money is donated to the Cancer Society of NZ.
As an added incentive companies such as Huffer, Les Mills, Smash Box, Ecoya and many more offer vouchers when you reach donation levels, starting from $25. There are some awesome prizes up for grabs, check them out here!
What are you giving up?
Since coming back from holiday I have taken a lazy approach to my eating habits, the lolly jar in the office really doesn’t help matters either! I have chosen to give up the following:
- Chocolate & lollies
- Biscuits, cakes & muffins
- Fast food such as McDonalds, KFC, Burger King etc
- Potato chips (my weakness!)
- Soft drinks including Red Bull
- Ice cream
What is your target?
I’ve kept it at a modest $100, and I would love your help to achieve this! If you’d like to donate to click here to go to my profile on the Junk Free June.
I wanna get involved!
If you’d like to give it a crack too, then sign up today! There are plenty of fund raising tips and recipes on their website to help you keep on track and raise money.
